Maddy Myers Speaks Out On Withdrawing From 2015 CrossFit Games
Maddy Myers, a rookie qualifier and the youngest woman competing at the CrossFit Games, withdrew from the competition after the Murph event on Friday. There were rumblings about what could have happened to her at the time and now she's opened up about what she experienced:

"So, as many of you know, I had to withdraw from the CrossFit Games and have since been hospitalized. In a very condensed version of what happened, after Murph, I collapsed from heat exhaustion and spent the next two hours in medical."

She continues on to say she stayed out of the snatch ladder to see if she could recover in time for the following event, but that "we realized I was suffering renal failure from acute dehydration and later on, rhabdomyolysis. Their immediate and follow up care may have literally saved my life."

Maddy is one of the fittest women on the planet and just three events into the 2015 CrossFit Games she had to be hospitalized for rhabdo. She's still waiting to be released from the hospital.

The Games were definitely tough on a lot of people, especially for the women during Murph due to the time of day and weather conditions. While many competitors seemed fine afterwards, there were definitely a lot of messed up athletes after that event. Hopefully Maddy recovers from this and doesn't suffer any long term consequences.
