Phil Andrews Named New USAW CEO
Yesterday, USA Weightlifting (USAW) announced they selected a new CEO: Phil Andrews. He had served as interim CEO since January 15 when Michael Massik stepped down from the role.

As USAW’s director of events and programs since 2013, Andrews oversaw the massive growth of American weightlifting in both the number and quality of lifters.

According to Andrews, he’s most excited to “assist [USAW’s] talented athlete pool to reach their best performances.”

We need to work closely with our athletes, coaches and clubs and offer our high-performing athletes every support we can.

Andrews knows his biggest challenge is leading USAW to more Olympic spots for the 2020 Games in Tokyo. “To achieve this, we need to work closely with our athletes, coaches and clubs and offer our high-performing athletes every support we can. We already started doing this with the announcement of our increased stipend program through the 2020 Games.”

USAW is in good hands with Andrews—he’s popular with some of the best lifters and coaches. Check it out:
