This is it, folks. We've got just one Open announcement left in the 2017 CrossFit Games Open and if 17.5 is anything like the other Open finales, it's bound to be a soul crusher of an event. With that in mind, here is Dave Castro's 17.5 hint:

Maybe he's telling us we're all dead meat? Or that we better get our throwing knives ready?

A key clue here is that he tagged a location in this post: Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. You know what you do in lakes? YOU SWIM. Heard it here first folks, there will be swimming in 17.5. Or rowing. But more likely swimming.

I've been thinking about this and trying to figure out exactly what would make the toughest/worst Open final workout and I think the answer is pretty obvious. We had thrusters & burpees in 14.5 and 16.5 and that workout is terrible. We had rowing & burpees in 15.5 and that was really bad. Why not combine them all into one epic workout? And make it dumbbell thrusters just for funsies.
