Rich Froning Tore His Meniscus The Week Before Regionals
Rich Froning tore his meniscus the week before regionals in 2017.
On the first episode of Froning & Friends, Rich Froning's new podcast with some of the Mayhem crew, Rich and the team were reminiscing about some of the tougher events from the 2017 CrossFit Games season when he mentioned he'd torn his meniscus the week before regionals.
At around the 23:00 mark, Froning is talking about how the heavy worm squat and calorie row workout from 2017 regionals absolutely crushed him because of how heavy and tough the squats were with the worm.
"Nobody really knows this, but I tore my meniscus the week before regionals," he said.
Thanks to that injury, he had to take some time off training his legs and didn't really have the leg strength and endurance he usually does.
Hopefully, Rich is recovered and healthy going into the 2018 preseason with Mayhem.
