Ben Smith and Noah Ohlsen stay in first and second, but Noah closed the gap a bit thanks to an Event Record on Event 7.

Nathan Bramblett stays in third, but the gap between him and fourth place shrinks.

Fourth place is now occupied by Jacob Anderson who rocketed up for 9th to 2nd with an incredible 2nd place finish in Event 6. Fifth place belongs to Travis Mayer who jumped ahead of Daniel Petro, Jeff Evans, Chandler Smith, and Gary Helmick with a fifth place finish in Event 6.

Here are the qualifying conditions for the bubble athletes heading into Event 7:

  • If Travis Mayer can finish ahead of Daniel Petro, Jeff Evans, Gary Helmick, and Chandler Smith, he will keep the fifth overall spot and his Games qualification.
  • If Daniel Petro, currently 6th, can place in the top 5 and at least one spot ahead of Travis Mayer, he’ll take fifth overall.
  • If Jeff Evans can place in the top 5, finish two spots ahead of Travis Mayer, and at least one spot ahead of Petro, he’ll take the fifth qualifying spot.
  • Gary Helmick has a harder task to qualify. He’ll have to place in the top 5, finish at least two spots ahead of both Mayer and Petro, and also beat Jeff Evans.
  • For Chandler Smith to make it to the Games in his rookie year, not only will he have to win, but he’ll also have to hope that Mayer, Petro, Evans, and Helmick all place 8th or worse.
