Multiple-time U.S. weightlifting champion Jon North suffered a cardiac arrest on Wednesday, according to an Instagram post by his wife, Jessica North.

Jessica North wrote, "Jon had a cardiac arrest today, was brought back to life by the paramedics and rushed to the hospital. He is in the Cardiac ICU and we will be here for at least a week until they find out exactly what is wrong with his heart."

Jon North was in the process of prepping for his second-ever bodybuilding competition, which was set to take place just a few weeks from now.
