Yesterday we got huge news out of Train Strongman: the Official Strongman Games will take place December 15-17 and will feature World's Strongest contests in seven divisions!

There's a lot to unpack there, so here's the gist of it all. In mid December, the Official Strongman Games World Finals will take place in North Carolina and will include the following contests:

World's Strongest Man - Masters
World's Strongest Man - 105kg/231lb
World's Strongest Man - 90kg/198lb
World's Strongest Man - 80kg/176lb
World's Strongest Woman
World's Strongest Woman - 82kg/180lg
World's Strongest Woman - 64kg/141lb
Giant's Live Qualifier - Open Mens

The even bigger news here is that the seven World's Strongest divisions will be invite only with many sources, but primarily through an online competition similar to the CrossFit Games Open where anyone can compete in three events and the top ranked athletes are invited to the finals to compete for the title of World's Strongest.

We don't currently have any concrete info on the online qualifier, but it looks like the first event is max tonnage in 30 seconds with deadlifts:

Colin Bryce also mentions the other two events as a farmers carry and a log lift.

This could be massive for the world of Strongman! Keep your eyes open for more details on this.
