Crash Crucible 2026 features individual and pairs competition across three days, with Elite Men and Elite Women competing Oct. 9-11 and Female Pairs and Male Pairs competing Oct. 10-11.

Athletes take on multiple events throughout the weekend at CrossFit Crash in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The competition was built to bring the demands of a major CrossFit event into a local gym setting. For viewers, that means following athletes through successive tests, with each result adding to the picture of how they stack up against their division.

Here’s how the divisions, events and heats fit together at Crash Crucible 2026.

What Is Crash Crucible?

Crash Crucible is a competitive fitness event hosted by CrossFit Crash in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Its format brings athletes together for several days of CrossFit competition, with separate fields for individual competitors and pairs.

The gym itself is part of the event’s identity. Organizers designed Crucible to offer high-level competition while keeping the event rooted in their local CrossFit community.

What Divisions Compete At Crash Crucible 2026?

The Crash Crucible 2026 schedule lists four divisions: Elite Men, Elite Women, Female Pairs and Male Pairs.

  • Elite Men: Individual competition Friday through Sunday.
  • Elite Women: Individual competition Friday through Sunday.
  • Female Pairs: Two-athlete teams competing Saturday and Sunday.
  • Male Pairs: Two-athlete teams competing Saturday and Sunday.

How Many Events Are In Crash Crucible 2026?

The schedule lists seven elite events across three days and five pairs events across two days.

  • Friday, Oct. 9: Two elite events.
  • Saturday, Oct. 10: Three elite events and three pairs events.
  • Sunday, Oct. 11: Two elite events and two pairs events.

Saturday’s first two elite events have overlapping schedules. Each heat has separate start times for those two events, so fans will see athletes progressing through both during the morning and early afternoon.

How Do Heats Work At Crash Crucible?

Heats divide a competition field into smaller groups that take their turns in an event. Crash Crucible lists five heats for Elite Men and five for Elite Women in each elite event.

A division’s listed start time marks its first heat. Later heats follow at scheduled intervals, so a 9 a.m. ET start for Elite Men does not mean every male athlete begins at that time.

The pairs schedule lists one Female Pairs heat and one Male Pairs heat for each pairs event. Fans can use the official heat schedule to follow the order throughout the weekend.

How Was Crash Crucible Scored In 2025?

Crash Crucible’s 2025 standings ranked athletes by their combined event points, with higher totals finishing ahead of lower totals. Colten Mertens won the men’s competition with 519.26 points, while Paige Rodgers topped the women’s field with 527.02 points.

The top three finishers in each field were:

Men

  • Colten Mertens: 519.26 points
