CJ Cummings and Harrison Maurus both set American Records at the American Open.

CJ Cummings has had an incredible 2016, setting Youth and Junior World Records and earning international gold medals for the US for the first time in years. His performance at the 2016 American Open follows that trend with even bigger totals and even bigger records.

Cummings' 138kg snatch set new Youth and Junior American Records and his 183kg clean & jerk set new Youth, Junior, and Senior clean & jerk American Records and his 321kg total is a new Youth, Junior, and Senior American Record as well.

Cummings wasn't the only lifter with an impressive showing at the American Open today. Harrison Maurus (M77) set new Youth American Records in the snatch, clean & jerk and total with a 146kg/321lb snatch, a 182kg/401lb clean & jerk, and a 328kg total.
