Olympic Champion Lasha Talakhadze Snatches 220kg/485lb!

Georgia's Lasha Talakhadze is the current World and Olympic Superheavyweight Champion as well as the World Record holder in the snatch with a 217kg/478lb lift and he's clearly got a whole lot of room in the tank.

At the 2017 Georgian Nationals, Talakhadze showed off just a bit of his capacity with this gorgeous 220kg/485lb lift.

This is the third 220kg snatch we've seen, the second from the floor, and the first in a competition setting. The other two 220kg snatches belong to Behdad Salimi (from the floor) and Aleksey Lovchev (from the blocks).

This is 3kg over Talakhadze's 217kg World Record snatch and as a young man with plenty of time left in the sport, it's very exciting to see where he goes from here. Perhaps Talakhadze can be the first human to ever snatch 227kg/500lb!
