CBD oil, more commonly known as Cannabidiol, will be removed from the World Doping Agency's list officially in January 2018.
CBD oil is a natural botanical concentrate which is produced by the cannabis plant. The oil contains healthy nutritious omega fatty acids, minerals, and antioxidants. This oil is extracted from hemp itself and not the marijuana buds, which means it doesn’t contain the psychoactive substance, THC. The CBD oil influences the human body’s appetite, sleep schedule, and mood by affecting the body’s CBD receptors, known as the Endocannabinoid system.
Athletes can start taking the substance legally January 1, 2018. CBD oil is also known to help reduce pain from injuries, muscle spasms, and inflammation, making post-recovery periods much shorter. The oil is available as tinctures, sprays, concentrates, capsules, and topical creams.
