Who Would Win The Fitter Bowl?

If Rich Froning and Mat Fraser formed football teams, which team would win? The Cookeville Patriots or Freedom Eagles?

Who Would Win The Fitter Bowl?

Let’s pretend that on Sunday instead of watching Tom Brady and the Patriots take the field to win another Super Bowl that we were sitting down to watch the first annual "Fitter Bowl." It’s like the Super Bowl, but with CrossFitters, Strongman athletes, and weightlifters.

What would a team made out of our favorite strength and fitness athletes actually look like?

Check it out:

On offense, we have a lethal combo of a collegiate sprinter and minotaur in the backfield with Dan Bailey taking the halfback spot and Sam Dancer filling the fullback role. But running off tackle may prove to be a problem with Terry Holland and Hafthor Bjornsson lined up at defensive end.

Froning should still have plenty of time in the pocket thanks to an O-line comprised of two of the strongest men on the planet in Brian Shaw and Eddie Hall, America’s own baby Thor, Wes Kitts, the squatting powerhouse that is Ray Williams, and a pretty strong CrossFitter you may have heard of that goes by Jason Khalipa.

While Froning’s line is built on the idea that mass wins, Fraser’s front four are going to rely on speed and fleet-footedness. As mentioned earlier, we have two of the most agile strongmen in history at defensive ends while CrossFit Games stud Kara Webb and the legendary Liefia Ingalls fill the tackle positions.

The most exciting matchups are in the secondary. On the left, Iceland Annie will have to find a way to get open around corner Katrin Davidsdottir for the deep ball, and linebacker Sara Sigmundsdottir in the flat. On the right, we’ll get to see if the Professor can break free from Elijah Muhammad at corner and Cole Sager at outside linebacker. Noah Ohlsen and Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson will be in charge of preventing any deep threats from Froning and Co.

Fraser’s D-line and linebacker core will be the key to victory if they are going to find a way. Froning will need to hope for big outside runs with Dancer leading the way and Bailey using his track speed to find the sideline. If that doesn’t work then Jr. will need to get the secondary to bite on the deep ball to open up the middle for a pop pass to tight end Tim "T-Rex" Paulson.

Vote for which team you think would win.
