Mathew Fraser and Sam Briggs took the first event wins of the 2016 CrossFit Games. They completed the 7K trail run with times of 34:10:27 and 36:08:65, respectively.

Behind Fraser, Josh Bridges, Brent Fikowski, and Jacob Heppner took second, third, and fourth. Behind Briggs, Kristin Holte, Kristi Eramo, and Katrin Davidsdottir took second, third, and fourth. Not only did Briggs come in first for the women, but she also came in third overall.

Reigning Fittest Man on Earth, Ben Smith, came in 11th with a time of 37:15:49.
