Teams saw the worm for the second time this year already in Events 5 and 6. 

In the first heat we saw a strong performance by the Games rookie team out of Australia, CrossFit Loaded. They've had lower finishes up to this point, including a 40th place finish in Event 3, but an 11th place event finish in Event 5 (and 24th in Event 6) is the move they needed to climb the leaderboard. Going into the event they sat in last place, after Events 5 and 6 they sit in 31st overall. They didn't start too hot out of the gate, most were paying attention to CrossFit XY, but CrossFit Loaded took over about a third of the way through the event and kept hold of their heat lead. CrossFit XY ended up finishing Event 5 tied for 28th and 26th in Event 6. 

In the second heat we saw a battle between CrossFit Nordic and CrossFit Solid. CrossFit Nordic's communication, rhythm, and speed on the worm clean-and-jerks eventually beat out CrossFit Solid. We also saw CrossFit CDR Redlands bounce back from a 20th place finish in Event 5 with a 9th place finish in Event 6. 

In the final heat we saw Mayhem steal the show with back-to-back event wins. Furthermore, any doubts people had about team member Matt Hewett recovering were put to rest. While they weren't the first team out of the gate, they kept a consistent pace (similarly to what we saw with CrossFit Loaded in the first heat). The rope climbs were a large "make or break" movement, and Mayhem's proficiency on them undeniably played into their success in Event 5. Their transitions on the worm sprint pushed them ahead of other teams for an event win there as well.

After the team events for the day Mayhem remains in first place overall, making them the only team to have all top 10 finishes. Their lowest event finish has been sixth place.

CrossFit Yas slipped down to third place, but are tied in points with 12 Labours CrossFit. They sit 106 points out from Mayhem in first.
