The 2016 Cascade Classic hosts 800+ of the best competitors in the Northwest and across the country. The Cascade Classic isn't just a sporting event. It is a celebration of human movement. Functional Fitness Athletes, Powerlifters, Olympic Weightlifters, and Strongmen will push past their limits and uncover their potential Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25th. Below is your go-to for all things Functional Fitness at the 2016 Cascade Classic.

The 2016 Cascade Classic will involve four events for all divisions on Saturday 9/24. There will be three competition areas with events happening simultaneously all day long. Divisions will compete in the four events in varying orders. Please note all times listed below are PT.

  • Athletes will have :30 to perform a DB snatch with each arm followed by :10 to rotate to the next station. Each arm counts as .5 reps. There will be 12 stations in the ladder. If you get to the final station you may perform extra reps as a tiebreaker.
  • Any snatch style is acceptable including muscle snatch, power snatch, and squat snatch
  • Starting weight = 70/45lb

The 2016 Cascade Classic will involve four events for all teams on Sunday 9/25. After four events, the top twelve teams will compete in a final event. Final event begins at 3:50PM PT. Please note all times listed below are PT.

Event #1: "Quadzilla"

  • Each athlete will have 4 minutes to establish a 1-rep max in one of the following lifts:

    • 80 Toes-to-bar + D-ball hold
    • 20 D-ball over shoulder

    • 10 Bar muscle ups + Double d-ball hold

  • Each team will have a 70# ball and a 100# ball.
  • At the start of the workout, both balls will be picked up and held above the waist and below the shoulder. The balls must remain off the floor until the associated work set is completed.
  • If the balls touch the ground before the associated work set is completed the team will incur a 10 sync burpee penalty to be performed immediately.
  • Once the work set is complete the team will proceed to the D Ball over shoulder.
  • Women will use the 70# ball. Men will use the 100# ball.
  • Both balls can be in motion at the same time.
  • The bar work can be completed by any athlete. Only one athlete on the bar at a time.
