ESPN to Televise 2014 CrossFit Games Primetime
During October, ESPN will televise the 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games from the Stub Hub Center in Carson, Calif., during two prime-time windows. ESPN will air three consecutive episodes featuring the female athletes on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET and three consecutive episodes featuring the male athletes on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Every episode will also be available via WatchESPN.

Episodes will highlight key stories and events that took place over the course of four days in July, such as The Beach (an open water swim in the Pacific Ocean), 21-15-9 complex, Muscle-up Biathlon, Sprint Carry, Clean Speed Ladder and Double Grace.

This year, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet claimed the title “Fittest Woman on Earth” and Rich Froning Jr. reclaimed the title “Fittest Man on Earth” for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, the first- and second-place women’s finishers from 2012 returned in 2014 after a year off — Annie Thorisdottir from injury and Julie Foucher after taking time off to focus on medical school.

ESPN, in its fourth consecutive year of CrossFit Games coverage, presented more live action than ever before across ESPN3 and ESPN TV networks when the Games were held in July. ESPN will continue to air the annual event after agreeing to a multi-year contract extension with CrossFit Inc. earlier this year.
