South Regionals Day 1 Recap
The dust has settled on Day 1 at South Regionals and the former Fittest Woman on Earth did not disappoint. Camille Leblanc-Bazinet finished the Event 1 Snatch ladder in 6:51, faster than any other female or male competitor in the region. She rounded out her day with a second place finish on Event 2, "Regional Nate", putting her in 1st overall after the day. Though no female competitors were able to finish the event, Alexis Johnson came the closest, edging out Camille by 10 reps to take the event win.

On the men’s side, Games veteran and 2015 South Regionals champion, Roy Gamboa, found himself on top of the leaderboard. With consistent 2nd place finishes on both events he sits in first after Day 1. Last year’s other Games qualifiers from the South, Travis Williams, Adrian Conway, and Jordan Cook, have some ground to make up. They sit in 9th, 10th and 15th respectively.

After 3 events on the team side, #TeamDensity from CrossFit Overtake sits in first place. Finishing high in both the gymnastics-heavy and the strength-heavy events today signals they are a well-rounded team to watch as the weekend progresses.
