Brent Fikowski is establishing his dominance in the West. If strength was once a weakness for Brent, he is showing it's a thing of the past after taking 3rd in Event 5. Event 5 featured 405lb. deadlifts. This follows his 2nd place finish on the heavy snatches from Day 1. With no finishes lower than 7th he is firmly atop the leaderboard with 2 events remaining.
Event 5 belonged to Mitch Wagner taking the win with a time of 12:39. Wagner entered event 5 in 8th place, but the win propelled him up the leaderboard and he will enter the final day of competition in the 3rd spot.
Multi Year Games veteran Ben Stoneberg occupies the number 2 spot after 2 days of competition showing that consistency is key with no finishes outside of the top 9.
Cody Anderson, looking to get back to the Games after missing in 2015, took a hit struggling with the 405 pound deadlifts. The 165lbs. athlete could not finish the event in the 16 minute time cap and fell from 2nd overall to 6th on the leaderboard. The group of athletes in the 5 through 9 spots are only separated by less than 25 point,s setting up an exciting battle for that coveted invite to the 2016 CrossFit Games!
