After the second day at Central Regionals CrossFit Mayhem Freedom sits comfortable in 1st with three event wins and nothing lower than a 5th place finish. This makes Mayhem Freedom one of three teams to go into day 3 with three event wins. The other two being Team Soul in the Atlantic and Diablo CrossFit Anejo from California Regional. At the end of the day Mayhem Freedom sits 84 points above 2nd place, Three Kings Black. Their point total, 565, is the second highest amount of points of all teams across all Regionals. Boise CrossFit Rainbow out of the West had 570 points after day 2, but only had two event wins going into the final day. All the numbers just displaying how dominant of a performance Mayhem Freedom is displaying.

Event records were set in both Events 5 and 6. MAXIMUS was able to complete all 100 GHD sit-ups in Event 5, making them the first team to reach the time cap having done so. Earlier in the morning, Team Dynamix out of the East Regional reached the time cap with nine reps remaining. The win (along with a solid 6th place finish in Event 6) moved them up into a qualifying spot.

Mayhem Freedom broke the Event 6 record (also set earlier in the East) by 20 seconds. Timberwolf CrossFit came out strong, but as both teams worked through the event, Mayhem Freedom’s teammate pairs began to catch up, and eventually passed, Timberwolf CrossFit.

Also worthy of noting, Kyle Kasperbauer and CrossFit Kinesis had back-to-back heat event wins. Their performance on “moving day” has done just that, moved them up closer to the top 10. They will go into the final day in 12th place.

At the end of day 2, the leaderboard hasn’t shuffled too much. CrossFit 417 was bumped out of a qualifying spot into 6th, and OC3 Black bumped into a qualifying spot.
