Jacob Heppner went into day 2 in 13th and the look on his face before Event 3 started let everyone know he would put himself on top of the leaderboard where he belonged. He took the heat event win for Event 3 and took down the event record with it. Unfortunately, the record didn’t last long, it was broken again by Kevin Scholtz in the next heat, but a 2nd place finish worked in Heppner’s favor overall. Scholtz became the first athlete across all Regionals to complete the event in under 4 minutes. He then went on to take 27th in Event 4.

Jacob Heppner continued the trend with a 2nd place finish in Event 4. No-reps on the power cleans (and a couple on the pistol squats) cost him the win (and the event record) to Paul Castillo. The previous event record was set by Josh Bridges out of the California Regional.

Jacob Heppner moves into 3rd place overall with a 23 point lead over 4th place Sam Dancer.

Scott Panchik finished in 9th and 6th in Events 3 and 4 respectively, his lowest finishes of the weekend thus far, but he still remains in 1st overall. Alex Anderson finished 17th and 5th respectively, but his spot on the leaderboard has also not changed from the end of day 1.

LEADERBOARD:
