The women’s leaderboard in the East at the end of Day 2 is at a turning point. With Katrin’s lead over Carol-Ann Reason Thibault shrunken down to only two points and Michele Letendre’s competitive weekend up in the air due to quad cramps during Event 5, the competition is tighter and crazier than ever leading into Day 3.

Elizabeth Adams, who came into Event 5 in 16th, pulled out a 2nd overall finish. While this moves her up the leaderboard, it also plays a huge role in shaking up the leaderboard.

The most amounts of points are available to the top six spots and in this specific event, four of the top six performances occurred by athletes ranked outside the top seven going into the event. This means that athletes who were on the outside looking in made big moves up the leaderboard and athlete in the top seven didn’t get a chance to make up enough points to keep their leads.

With a shrinking gap between third and seventh (only 40 points) and 200 points still available, Day 3 is going to be a bloodbath.
