Three Major Storylines Going Into The Final Day Of The 2017 CrossFit Games
The 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin, are almost over. With just one day of competition, we've got a runaway champion in the men's division, an upstart team trying to take down the reigning champs, and a women's division filled to the brim with legends working to write the next chapter of Games history.

The Men's Division

Barring a catastrophic meltdown, Mat Fraser will win the 2017 CrossFit Games. The battle in that division will be for the podium and it's a hell of a fight. There are 44 points between second place Noah Ohlsen and fourth-place Ricky Garard. Between them is last year's fourth place finisher Brent Fikowski, and just behind Ricky Garard is perennial contender Scott Panchik.

With at least two scored events on Sunday, these four men will be neck and neck trying to earn the points necessary to stand next to Mat Fraser on the podium and each of them has a shot at that silver medal.

The Women's Division

While the men's division is a runaway, the women's division is tightly packed. Tia-Clair Toomey sits on top of the podium with just 14 points between her and fellow Aussie Kara Webb. Sara Sigmundsdottir, Annie Thorisdottir, and Tennil Reed-Beuerlein round out the top five.

The top four have 62 points between them and anything can happen on the last day of competition with such a small margin. Even defending Champ Katrin Davidsdottir, sitting in sixth, can make a push to the podium if she puts together an epic day and capitalizes on other women's mistakes.

The Wasatch Brutes came to play and they're giving Mayhem a run for their money. With a sixty point lead over Mayhem, the Brutes are poised to take the Affiliate Cup home and away from the two-time defending Champs. In order to three-peat, Mayhem will need to place top-three in both remaining events and the Brutes will have to falter in both remaining events.

The Brutes have been very consistent so far, with their only poor performance coming early in the competition. If they can keep their communication clear and their eyes focused on the task at hand, they'll be able to slay the giants and claim the throne.
