We've known for a while that the 2017 Granite Games would include a swim, but for the longest time it was listed as just that: a swim. Then, last night, John Swanson, the event director of the Granite Games, let the athletes know they should be expecting more . . . a lot more.

The 400m swim event has now become a 400m swim followed by a 2500m run, taking it from a short and easy swim distance to a pretty challenging aerobic endurance piece.

While we won't be live-streaming the swim, which is scheduled for Saturday morning for all divisions, we will be out there in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, covering as best we can on social media!
