Breaking: Full Details On New CrossFit Games Regionals Released

At the end of the 2017 CrossFit Invitational, Dave Castro announced some of the details on how the 2018 CrossFit Games Regionals and team competition would be different. Now we have full details on the regions, including which countries are included, how many spots they get, and when they'll take place.

2018 CrossFit Games Regionals Schedule

Week 1: May 18-20

  • East Regional
    • Canada East (15 individuals, 10 teams from the Open)
    • North East (25 individuals, 20 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games
  • South Regional
    • South Central (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • South West (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games
  • Europe Regional
    • Europe Central (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • Europe North (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games

Week 2: May 25-27

  • Central Regional
    • Central East (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • North Central (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games
  • West Regional
    • Canada West (5 individuals, 5 teams from the Open)
    • West Coast (35 individuals, 25 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games
  • Latin America Regional
    • Central America (15 individuals, 10 teams from the Open)
    • South America (25 individuals, 20 teams from the Open)
    • 1 man, 1 woman, 1 team qualify for the Games

Week 3: June 1-3

  • Atlantic Regional
    • Mid Atlantic (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • South East (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games
  • Meridian Regional
    • Europe South (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • Middle East Africa (20 individuals, 15 teams from the Open)
    • 4 men, 4 women, 4 teams qualify for the Games
  • Pacific Regional -
    • Asia (10 individuals, 7 teams from the Open)
    • Australiasia (30 individuals, 23 teams from the Open)
    • 5 men, 5 women, 5 teams qualify for the Games


More details:

  • Team is now four members instead of six
  • There will still be 40 men, 40 women, and 40 teams which qualify for the Games
  • South Central is Texas through Mississippi and only US states
  • West Coast is California, all North West states from Washington to Wyoming, as well as Alaska and Hawaii
  • Central America is Mexico through Panama and the islands to the east
  • Europe North is Aland Islands, Bulgaria, Belarus, Bouvet Island, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Svalbard and Jan Mayen, Slovakia, Sweden and Ukraine
  • Europe Central is Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, United Kingdom, Greece, Croatia, Isle of Man, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Moldova, Macedonia, Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia and Kosovo
  • Europe South is Andorra, Switzerland, Cyprus, Spain, France, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Italy, Jersey, Monaco, Malta, Montenegro, Portugal, San Marino, Turkey and Holy See (Vatican)
