Lucas Parker Will Be Sitting Out The 2018 CrossFit Games Open
CrossFit Games veteran Lucas Parker will be sitting out the 2018 season in order to focus on 2019.
Fan favorite CrossFit Games athlete Lucas Parker has announced that he's sitting out the 2018 CrossFit Games season in order to "have a productive 2018 that sets me up for a successful 2019."
Parker also mentioned he thinks that CrossFit athletes will eventually move towards an "Olympiad" style seasonality, in which they aim to peak and compete every couple years instead of every single year.
Hopefully, Parker is able to stay healthy and get back at it for next season, as he's always been an exciting character at the Games. He has had some injuries and setbacks, but we've seen plenty of athletes come back to the Games after taking a year off with great success, including Sam Briggs taking the title in 2013 after missing 2012.
