The first day of the 2017 Kill Cliff Granite Games kicked off with a bang for the pro individuals. After being loaded onto a bus, they were taken to an offsite venue where they ran a 2-mile trail course in a weightvest and followed that up with a short and brutal hill sprint.

After having several hours off, the Pros returned to the Herb Brooke National Hockey Center and took on "Cycle," a three round couplet of Assault bike calories and shoulder-to-overhead.

With three events wrapped, the leaderboards are beginning to shape up and the race is incredibly close on the men's side. Only eleven points separates the top placed athlete, Saxon Panchik, from the fifth placed athlete Scott Cottrill. The tight race continues with just 30 points between 5th and 11th, Malachi Bennet. You can find the full leaderboard here.

With such a tight race and five remaining events over the weekend, there are bound to be some incredible races to earn some points. On Saturday, the individual Pros will take on three events: the swim, the clean ladder, and the strongman muscle up couplet
